Kiev childhood railway in Syrets.
Syrets poses historical area in Shevchenkovsky district of Kiev.
The name of the area origins from Syrets River that mouth in
Dniper River. Firstly Syrets was mentioned in chronicle of 1381.
It was described as village gifted to Dominican monastery by
prince Vladimir Olgerdovich. In the first part of the 19th century
the ravine Syrets was included into the borders of the city.
Here summer camps of Kiev garrison and later - military airdrome
were situated. Syrets was agricultural suburb of Kiev. Nowadays
Syrets - is one of the most big housing estate. In the center
of the district Syretsky Park with Little railway is situated.
Traveling by the train navigated by young railwaymen - is the
favorite devotion of little Kievites. Syretsky Park poses magnificent
place for entertaining. Kiev television center was erected not
far from the childhood railway.
